One day you may set up a drying plan in a family home. The next, you may help coordinate repairs in a commercial building. The work is hands-on, and you can see a damaged space improve as the job moves forward.
You will learn technical and problem-solving skills on real jobs alongside people who know the work. We are a small operation, so you will have responsibility for your part of each job.
Restoration is emergency trade work. Some hours are irregular and some jobs are difficult. Each posting gives the pay range and describes the hard parts so you can decide whether to apply.
Common questions
Why do you publish the pay range?
Partly because British Columbia requires it. The Pay Transparency Act has required every publicly advertised job opportunity in BC to state the expected pay, or a range with a real minimum and maximum, since November 2023, and there is no small-employer exemption from that part of the Act. Partly because "competitive salary" wastes an afternoon for both of us.
Where do your pay ranges come from?
Government of Canada Job Bank wage data for the Lower Mainland and Southwest region, cross-checked against live postings for the same job titles in this market. Each role page names the source for its range so you can check it.
Will you ask what I earn now?
No. Section 3 of the Pay Transparency Act prohibits an employer from seeking pay history information about an applicant, including through a third party. Our application asks for none of it. If a previous employer has told you your pay is confidential and you cannot discuss it, note that the same Act protects your right to disclose your own pay.
Do I need experience in restoration?
For the technician role, no. We can teach you the equipment and process. You do need to show up reliably and treat people well on a bad day. For the coordinator role, you need experience coordinating trades, construction or insurance work because you will manage several live jobs from day one.
Is this on-call work?
Partly, yes. Emergencies do not keep office hours, and both roles take a share of the rotation. If a phone going off at two in the morning would be a problem, this is worth knowing before you apply rather than after.
