Privacy policy
Last updated July 2026. This policy describes how this website collects, uses and stores personal information.
The short version
This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and carries no advertising or tracking pixels. The only personal information it collects is what you type into the enquiry form and send us. We use that to answer your enquiry. We do not sell it, rent it or share it for marketing.
What the form collects
Your name, phone number, email address, the city you are in, and whatever you write in the details box. You can phone instead of using the form, and none of this information is required to browse the site.
Two hidden fields travel with the form: an empty field that only an automated script would fill in, and a timestamp recording when the page loaded. Both exist to detect spam submissions. Neither identifies you and neither is retained beyond the submission.
Where it goes
The form is delivered by FormSubmit, a third-party form-to-email service, which passes the contents to quotes@vancouverwaterdamagepros.ca and does not store the submission for us. From there it lives in our email, which is where it stays. Our website host serves static files and receives standard server request logs, which include IP addresses; we do not use those logs for anything and we do not connect them to form submissions.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become jobs are deleted within about a year. Records connected to work we actually carried out are kept longer, because insurance and tax obligations require it and because a moisture log from two years ago is occasionally the thing that settles a dispute.
Your rights
Under the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act, you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Email quotes@vancouverwaterdamagepros.ca and say what you want. There is no form for this and no fee.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request, you can complain to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia, or to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Links to other sites
A few pages link to other companies and to government and municipal websites. Their privacy policies apply when you follow those links. We do not control what those sites collect.
When this changes
If we add analytics, advertising or any other third-party script, this policy will be updated at the same time, and the date at the top will change.
